More Bang for Your Buck?

We’ve all heard or have seen the saying either in a commercial, in a store, or magazine; “more bang for your buck”. Whether it’s a buy one get one or an extremely good discount, we all consider it a still. However, the only thing being stolen in the fast food business is our nutrition. When ordering at a fast food chain have you ever stopped to wonder why a greasy burger meal cost less than it’s healthier counterpart?

The most upsetting part of the whole situation is the fact that fast food restaurants target low income neighborhoods. This pushed fast food franchises 3.51 miles closer to low income communities. This contributes to the 41% of those in low income communities who are obese. Now we sit here scratching our heads asking, why is there an increase in obesity rates? This all goes back to the more bang for your buck idea. When the average hamburger costs $1.50, you can buy three or four sandwiches for the price of one salad. Sounds like a good deal right? But is it when our health is on the line?!
